2018 Pinot Noir, Parmeter Vineyard, Sonoma Coast

The West Sonoma Coast is defined in part by its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.  Growing there is hard enough, but the Parmeter Vineyard is situated on a steep slope 1500 feet high above the sea, posing even more challenges to the grape vines.  In this highly stressful environment, the vines produce concentrated berries full of fruit, spice, earth, and smooth tannins.  A rugged, complex Pinot with a soft touch.

2018 vintage allowed for picking at just the right time, which is important in such a variable environment as the West Sonoma Coast. We were able to choose the moment of balance between fruit, tannins, and acidity. Throughout Sonoma County and Napa, moderate weather lead to evenly ripe grapes.  As always, the quality work of our vineyard partners like the Parmeter family set the stage for delicious wines to be made!
