2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III

Tasting Notes
This 2019 Beckstoffer Georges III Cabernet Sauvignon pours a deep purple black hue.  Aromatically, the wine leaps out of the glass with black cherry, anise, wafts of roasted applewood, and dark chocolate.  Luxurious fine grained tannins provide support to the ample fruit, and signal long ageability.  

Vineyard & Winemaking
One of the most famous plots of land in Napa Valley, the Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is located in Rutherford, nestled between Conn Creek Road and the Silverado Trail. The third vineyard developed by Georges de Latour for his Beaulieu Vineyards in 1928, it has been farmed to the exacting standards of legendary grower Andy Beckstoffer since 1988. This vineyard is hallowed ground in the world of Cabernet Sauvignon winemaking.

The Vintage
The beginning of the 2019 growing season was defined by rainfall and late soil moisture. The long, warm summer saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild finish to the season helped to preserve freshness and finesse.  Long hang time teased out great color, structure and soft tannins.
