2019 Chardonnay, Oregon
Tasting Notes
This Chardonnay opens with stone fruit and honey. Delicate floral aromas and flavors mingle with ripe white peach and ginger. Vanilla and honey add to the super long finish.
Winemaker’s Notes
Swift and gentle handling from grape to bottle helps preserve the freshness and complexity in this wine. After harvesting in the early morning I loaded up the flatbed truck, made the drive back in to California, and immediately pressed the grapes. Fermentation in carefully selected new and used barrels helps accentuate a creamy mouthfeel that plays nicely with the bright fruits of the wine.
The Vintage
2019 in Southern Oregon was beautiful and temperate for most of the growing season. September cool weather and rains made for an exciting run up to harvest. By mid-October, the vineyard dried out and warmed, making a perfect picking window.
